Duties & Responsibilities
The Village of Maryville first established a fire department in October 1904 as a volunteer fire suppression service. Today, the Village continues to provide not only fire suppression service, but also Emergency Medical Services, rescue services, fire prevention education and inspections.
The department is served by a combination of 10 paid on-call firefighters, 6 full-time firefighter/paramedics and firefighter / EMTs and 1 full-time fire chief. The department protects over 10,000 residents in an eight-square mile area, including the Village of Maryville and the unincorporated surrounding fire protection district.
