The Village of Maryville is accepting applications to establish an Eligibility Hiring List for the position of Firefighter / Paramedic. Excellent annual starting salary, complete medical, life insurance and retirement programs are furnished. This list will be combined with our existing eligibility list of EMTs. There is one firefighter/ paramedic position that will be filled immediately upon certification of the final eligibility list.
Selection Requirements: Be a U.S. Citizen, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, hold a valid driver’s license, possess a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) with Ladder Climb endorsement at time of conditional employment offer, be a currently State of Illinois licensed Paramedic at time of conditional employment offer, and have no felony convictions. Applicants must be at least 20 years and less than 35 years of age, with the exception of persons 35 years of age or older who have served a municipality as a full-time firefighter, regularly enrolled volunteer, paid-on-call, or part-time firefighter. Applicants must attend a mandatory orientation, submit to extensive written examination, an in-depth background check and medical screen.

To be considered for Eligibility Testing, applications must be received by mail or in person before 4:00 p.m. November 27, 2023, at the Maryville Village Hall.
