Electric Aggregation/Ameren Rates Update

Effective June 2019, the new Ameren Illinois summer rate (June 2019 - September 2019) will be 4.56 cents/kilowatt-hour (kwh) and the non-summer rate (October 2019 - May 2020) will be 4.83 cents/kwh. These new Ameren rates are lower than the current municipal electric aggregation contract with Homefield Energy, which is 5.496 cents/kwh. This municipal aggregation rate is fixed through December 2020. On average this will equate to monthly bills with Homefield Energy being approximately $7 per month higher than the summer rate with Ameren Illinois.

Please be aware, Ameren does not guarantee their rates for any time period. Ameren may raise rates at any time if it files with the ICC and demonstrates that its costs have increased.  The municipal aggregation rate is higher, but is guaranteed until December 2020.

Customers are allowed to opt-out of the municipal electric aggregation program at any time, at no cost. However, customers who opt-out may not re-enter the aggregation program for 12 months. Again there is no cost to customers to leave or re-join the aggregation program.

To leave the municipal electric aggregation program, please contact Homefield Energy at (866) 694-1262. You may also contact Homefield Energy at this number if you are a new residential electric customer or are uncertain if you are enrolled in our municipal aggregation program.

(Please note, this is only for Ameren Illinois electric customers. This does not apply to Southwestern Electric or Ameren gas customers.)
