Description Public Hearing FY 2006 Madison County Community Development Block Grant Application
Date5/3/2006 Location  Council Chambers
Time Speaker Note
6:45:01 PM Gulledge Called the public hearing of Wednesday, May 3, 2006 to order. There were nine (9) individuals in attendance. He explained the purpose of the hearing was to discuss potential projects for the Village's application for a Madison County Community Development Block Grant for fiscal year 2006. He asked for any projects any residents or members of the Board might like to submit. There were none. Mayor submitted a community block grant application for sewers provided to low-to-mid income residents along Northwood and West Main Street. Stated he believes there are thirteen properties involved in this project. Stated the grant needs to be turned in tomorrow. He again asked if there were projects anyone would like considered for the grant.
6:46:46 PM Garcia Suggested a similar grant for residents of Blackburn Terrace. Mayor responded this grant would be for low to moderate income residents only. Garcia responded they have a lot of new residents that might make that requirement. Mayor answered they might consider it, but he does not believe it would pass as they would need a 51% majority. Stated they could do an income survey next year to determine if it would qualify, but it will not qualify this year.
6:47:04 PM Gulledge With no other questions or comments, he closed the hearing.

Respectfully submitted,

Thelma Long, Village Clerk
