6:30:19 PM Gulledge Called the Public Hearing of Wednesday, July 19, 2006 to order. There were six (6) persons in attendance. Explained the purpose of the Hearing is to discuss the Village of Maryville's Appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2006 and ending April 30, 2007. Explained he will not be reading every line item, but each Department and total. Commented copies of the ordinance will be made available for review. Stated the appropriation for the Fire Department is $581,250; for the Police Department is $1,323,500; for the Administrative Department is $363,750; for the Legal Department is $115,000; for Buildings is $194,200; for Streets and Alleys is $1,012,200; for Public Comfort Facilities is $183,500; for Parks and Recreation is $379,000; for Insurance is $416,000; for the Cemetery is $62,000; for Public Service Department is $53,600; for Social Security is $150,000; for IMRF and/or Retirement Benefits is $340,000; for Street Lighting is $50,000; for Building and Zoning is $167,050; for Economic Development/Tourism is $26,000; for Contingencies is $150,000; which brings the grand total of appropriations to $5,567,050. Stated for the benefit of the public, this appropriation only sets legal limits for spending in these particular categories; it does not mean the Village will spend all of this money, as they certainly don't have or generate such funds. Invited anyone in attendance to address the Board on the matter of the Appropriation Ordinance for May 2006 through April 30, 2007. There were no comments.
