6:44:17 PM Gulledge Called the first public hearing of Wednesday, August 1, 2007 to order. There were twelve (12) persons in attendance. Explained the purpose of the hearing is to discuss an annexation agreement for the Starke Property located at 2938 Maryville Road. Stated this is the standard annexation agreement with one modification stating the Starke's are pursuing zoning of B-1, Business as opposed to SR-1. Stated they have held sufficient Planning Commission meetings on this subject. Opened the hearing to the public and Board for questions or comments.
6:45:30 PM Garcia Asked where Maryville Road is.
6:45:33 PM Gulledge Explained in relationship to where the viaduct used to be on Route 159 on the east side. Stated the property is on the south side of the walking trail, and is approximately 1.72 acres.
6:45:54 PM Garcia Asked what B-1 is.
6:45:57 PM Gulledge Answered light business. Stated the Comprehensive Plan calls for B-1 in that area.
6:46:14 PM Paul Starke 2938 Maryville Road. Stated he does not understand some of the terms of the agreement: "Dedication of improvements", which Flaugher explained has to do with the sidewalk, etc. Mayor explained that means the Village will take over maintenance of the sidewalk. Starke clarified this is a standard agreement. Mayor answered yes; they did not change anything other than the zoning is B-1 as opposed to SR-1.
6:48:26 PM Helen Starke 2938 Maryville Road. Stated they are under contract, one of the stipulations of which was to get this zoning changed. Clarified if that contract falls through, they will not be forced out of living in the house. Mayor answered no, they will not be forced out.
6:48:54 PM Gulledge Asked for other questions or comments. There were none.
6:49:00 PM Gulledge He closed the hearing.
