6:30:18 PM Gulledge Called the Caucus meeting of Wednesday, August 10, 2011 to order and invited those in attendance to join in the Pledge of Allegiance. After the Pledge, asked for a roll of those officers present. Answering the roll call were Trustees Vallino, Schmidt, Bell, Kostyshock, Garcia and Short. Also in attendance were Clerk Fenton, Public Works Director Presson and one reporter.
6:31:01 PM Gulledge Called for approval of the July 27th meeting minutes. Asked if there were any questions, additions or subtractions to the minutes as prepared by the Clerk. There were none. Motion to approve was made by Schmidt and seconded by Vallino. Voting on the motion: Vallino - yes; Schmidt - yes; Bell - yes; Kostyshock - yes; Garcia - yes; Short - yes. Motion carried.
6:31:30 PM Gulledge Went to purchase of Public Works trucks.
6:32:00 PM Presson Stated the purchase of two pickup trucks will replace a street and water truck. Stated they are both Ford F150's for a state bide of $22,544 each.
6:32:25 PM Gulledge Explained the purchase of both trucks was included in the current Public Works budget.
6:34:58 PM Gulledge Went to next item, Meadows Court Road repairs and asked Village Engineer Juneau to discuss.
6:35:41 PM Juneau Explained the road has been showing deterioration over the last couple of years. Gave a presentation of a process of asphalt overlay over concrete streets, showing examples of streets in Glen Carbon done 20 years ago. Explained the process. Stated the estimate is $48,000 with a 20% contingency from MFT funds.
6:50:30 PM Vallino Questioned whether there is enough in MFT, as his worksheet shows $525,000 of budgeted income with $546,000 of expenses.
6:50:51 PM Gulledge Stated they will review the figures.
6:52:41 PM Gulledge Went to Calendar Updates. Events were discussed.
6:56:08 PM Gulledge Went to To Do List. Schmidt asked the status of the fire house expansion.
6:56:27 PM Short Commented they were supposed to have final plans and bid packets ready today; however they had not been received as of 2:30 p.m. today.
6:57:06 PM Vallino Asked about the bent flag pole in the park. He was told it happened in one of the spring storms and has been turned in to insurance.
6:57:54 PM Gulledge Went to Trustees Comments.
6:57:58 PM Vallino Stated he has made contact with Dr. Hall who has given him some open dates in October for the Rabies Clinic. Stated he will check with Comptroller regarding Community Center availability and get back to the Vet to finalize the date.
7:00:56 PM Schmidt Reminded the Board they need suggestions on use of the funds from the hospital bond issue.
7:01:46 PM Bell Commented the subdivision page is finished and uploaded to the website.
7:04:41 PM Kostyshock Asked if the Village plans to restock the lake. He was told it was done in April. Next commented school starts Monday.
7:05:46 PM Bell Asked the status of the marquee sign. Mayor stated he has not contacted anyone regarding hard-wiring the sign, as he is not familiar with the technicalities of the sign. Stated if Bell would agree to come in to the office, they can make the call together.
7:09:20 PM Gulledge Went to Mayor's Comments. Stated they need to make a decision on whether to hold a Caucus meeting on the fifth Wednesday of the month, as he will not be in town. The Board decided to cancel the meeting.
7:10:43 PM Gulledge With no further business to come before the meeting, asked for a motion to adjourn. Motion was made by Bell and seconded by Schmidt. Voting on the motion: Vallino - yes; Schmidt - yes; Bell - yes; Kostyshock - yes; Garcia - yes; Short - yes. Motion carried.
