Village of Maryville, Illinois

Description Public Hearing #1 - Comprehensive Plan Update
Date5/19/2004 Location Council Chamber
Time Speaker Note
6:30:01 PM Gulledge Called the Public Hearing to order, with nine (9) persons in attendance. He explained the purpose of the hearing was to discuss recommendations for amendments to the Village Comprehensive Plan. He read the recommendation from the Planning Commission for approval of the amended Comprehensive Plan, and also the recommendation for the elimination of the pyramid structure in the zoning ordinances via change or amendment, the intent being to make the current ordinances more restrictive to follow the amended comprehensive plan. He said the recommendation came from the April 26th Planning Commission minutes. He opened the hearing for any questions and or comments. He told those in attendance if they would like to review the Updated Comprehensive Plan Land Use and Transportation Map, it is displayed on the table. Also there are comments from Tom Wobbe from SWIMPAC who guided the Village through this amendment process.
6:32:08 PM Bell Asked about the pyramid structure.  He said that means that commercial is for commercial and cannot be used for any other classification, such as multi-family, etc.
6:32:54 PM Gulledge Replied he was correct. He said basically whatever zoning the zoning map would have, that is the zoning that would pertain to that particular parcel of property, unless there was another amendment or variance granted by the Zoning Board of Appeals and/or the Planning Commission.
6:32:58 PM Bell Commented that Single Family Residential One, could not have Single Family Residential Two built on it.
6:33:09 PM Gulledge Answered that this is correct. He asked for any other questions or comments and there were none. He closed the hearing.

Respectfully submitted,

Thelma Long, Village Clerk
