Description Special Board Minutes
Date10/13/2004 Location Council Chamber
Time Speaker Note
6:30:01 PM Gulledge Called the Special Board meeting of Wednesday September 13, 2004 to order. He asked those in attendance to join in the Pledge of Allegiance. After the Pledge, he asked for a roll call of those officers present. Answering the roll call were Trustees Schmidt, Bell, Callahan, and Garcia. Trustees Limberg and Kostyshock were absent. Also in attendance were Clerk Long, Attorney Keck, Building & Zoning Administrator/Fire Chief Flaugher, and Assistant Fire Chief May, and two reporters.
6:31:08 PM Gulledge Explained the purpose of the Special Board meeting is to discuss the results of the two bids from the bid opening this afternoon. He said this is in references to Motor Fuel Tax monies to possibly be spent on Jacquelyn. He provided the trustees with a copy of the bid tabulations. He explained that there are three columns. The first column is the engineer's estimate of what the project would cost. The next two columns are the two bids. Reese Construction Company bid $24,934.41 and Mounds Construction Company bid $20, 770.50. He went on to say because of the timeliness of the asphalt season, it was necessary that this special meeting be called to discuss these bids. At this time he asked for a motion to accept the low bid of $20,770.50 for Motor Fuel Tax Overlay for Jacquelyn Court. Bell made the motion and Schmidt seconded the motion.
6:32:53 PM Garcia Asked if this was over the amount.
6:33:03 PM Gulledge Explained that the engineer's estimate is just that, an estimate of what they think the project will cost. This estimate was done a couple of months ago. Sometimes the estimate is high, sometimes it is low. It is an IDOT form, and it requires an estimate. He said there was a lady engineer from IDOT at the bid opening, along with Juneau's engineer and himself.
6:33:35 PM Garcia Asked where Jacquelyn Court is located.
6:34:00 PM Gulledge Replied it is off Bauer Lane, on the north side. With no other questions, he asked for a roll call vote on the motion. Voting on the motion: Schmidt - yes; Bell - yes; Callahan - yes; Garcia - yes. Motion carried.
6:34:15 PM Gulledge Asked for a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting. Garcia made the motion to adjourn, and Schmidt seconded the motion. Voting on the motion: Schmidt - yes; Bell - yes; Callahan - yes; Garcia - yes. Motion carried, and the Special meeting ended.

Respectfully submitted,

Thelma Long, Village Clerk
